Scott Marlow currently serves as Senior Policy Specialist for the Rural Advancement Foundation International USA division.
Scott Marlow directs RAFI’s portfolio of work on sustainable agriculture approaches to risk management, infrastructure for the development of entrepreneurial farm enterprises, and manages the development of policy analysis actions based on RAFI’s direct service with farmers and sustainable food enterprises. Over his 13 years at RAFI, Marlow worked as Executive Director, Director of Farm Sustainability and Community-Based Programs, and Project Director. In these roles, he focused on farmer-focused network development, projects on tobacco producers developing supplemental enterprises, and mental health outreach for farm families.
Previously, Marlow worked as an Organic Certification Inspector at the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association. His recent publications include Understanding the Farm Bill Process, Documenting Disaster Losses, Valuing Farmers in the Whole Foods Acquisition, and Testimony to House Agriculture Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges.
He received his B.A. in Political Science with a focus on agricultural policy and his M.S. in Crop Science from North Carolina State University.
