Jenny Favret

Jenny Favret, M.S., R.D., LDN, is a nutritionist with the Duke Children's Healthy Lifestyles Program, a family centered treatment option for children and teens with weight related health issues.


Jenny is a registered dietitian who has received certificates of training in Adult and in Childhood/Adolescent Weight Management through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She attended Western Carolina University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics. In addition, Jenny completed a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Foods from Virginia Tech.

Jenny is exceptionally skilled in the use of motivational interviewing techniques to help guide her clients toward their individual health goals. Thousands of patients have benefitted from her intuitive eating approaches for weight management and disordered eating. Jenny writes a biweekly nutrition blog for Bull City Fit, a community based wellness program in Durham, N.C., where she also teaches cooking classes for making economical, controlled carbohydrate meals. Jenny enjoys biking and exploring thrift stores for interesting items to repurpose.
