J. Danielle Martin, MSN, R.N., SCRN, is the grant director for Western Carolina University's Health Resources and Services Administration grant for BSN Practicums in Population Health, which supports students who are interested in primary care post graduation.
She has more than a decade of experience working with communities to improve the health of individuals living in Western North Carolina. As Stroke Outreach Coordinator at Mission Hospital, Danielle coordinated more than 23 health screenings across Western North Carolina and helped to build relationships between the hospital system and multiple organizations including primary care practices, EMS, health departments, and community and senior centers. She was awarded a CVS Caremark grant to help fund additional heath projects for the communities her program served. Danielle instituted motivational interviewing trainings as well as developed an interprofessional team model to assist with preventative screenings.
